My client is an international corporate bank and is headquartered in Istanbul. The bank is the No. 1 private bank in Turkey. In Germany, the bank is very successful as a full-service bank. All classical types of financing are offered. My client has a relatively risk-averse business approach, which makes the bank very secure and stable.
As part of the business expansion, the risk management area is to be expanded:
Vice President – Senior Risk Manager (m/w/d)
The duties and responsibilities mainly include:
- Directly reporting to the Head of Risk Management.
- Jointly responsible for all risk policy issues, in particular in developing and implementing the risk strategy and evolving a risk limitation system.
- Carrying out the risk inventory and drawing up the overall risk profile and in presenting it to General Management (GM).
- Developing and improving the risk management and risk control processes.
- Monitor the institution’s risk situation and internal capital adequacy as well as compliance with the risk limits on an ongoing basis.
- Jointly responsible in drawing up the regular risk reports for the GM and for the regulator.
- Being responsible for passing on material risk-related ad-hoc information promptly to the management board and risk committee members.
- Support the Head of Risk Management in providing reports to regulatory authorities, General Management and Head Office. Provide advice and guidance on design and implementation of strategies and policies to oversee and control risks to GM and Head Office Management on a periodic basis and where necessary.
- Coordinating and overseeing day-to-day risk management activities to identify, assess, control, oversee and communicate risks or incidents and the risk profile of the institute.
- Designing and implementing a training program to ensure risk managers’ continuous professional education and promote a proper risk culture.
- Liaising, co-ordinating and co-operating with other internal control and oversight functions, including Internal Audit, Compliance, External Auditors, regulatory bodies.
- Jointly responsible to contribute input to the Risk Report in the so-called Lagebericht and creating the Disclosure Report.
- Support the Head of Risk Management in conducting Outsourcing Risk Analysis/Assessment according to MaRisk and BAIT for the outsourced activities of Risk Management Department.
- Organize and coordinate Risk Committee Meetings.
- Analyze the impact of new business on the risk profile.
- Perform the validation and provide reporting with regard to model validation in Risk Management.
- Support Head of Risk Management in calculating the Capital Planning.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A university degree and/or professional certificate and risk management proficiency, including regulatory requirements pursuant to KWG, MaRisk, CRR, CRD and other regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and communication skills, proficiency in German and English.
- The ability to pro-actively identify and solve problems, work as a self-starter and still be a team player.
